Months after teasing rich customization features for Galaxy users, Samsung is finally rolling out the promised QuickStar update. The March 2026 patch didn’t include those changes, but a newly spotted version on the Galaxy Store, first reported by SamMobile, could finally deliver on those promises.

On April 3, SamMobile reported about a just-launched new QuickStar update, which finally introduces new customizations for the Quick Panel on One UI 8.5. The latest build version of the GoodLock add-on is v10.0.04.26, and it brings the following new customizations:

These new features are exclusively available on One UI 8.5 builds, with Beta users reportedly being able to download it as well. The update should be rolled out to all users in the coming days.

How to access the latest QuickStar changes
In order to access the QuickStar customizations, users should download the Good Lock app at the Galaxy Store. Once they have set it up, they can add the QuickStar plugin.

Once added, users should tap on QuickStar within the Good Lock app and turn it on before they can start customizing their Quick Panel.
As noted by Tarun Vats on X, users who have updated their QuickStar to the latest version should open QuickStar and tap on Advanced Settings, then toggle on Resize panel items and Show bar levels.

This will unlock new functionality in the Quick Panel’s edit menu (pencil icon), allowing users to customize the layout when they pull down the menu.
If the v10.0.04.26 update doesn't show up automatically, users should check for updates in the Galaxy Store or open the Good Lock app and search for an update notification near the QuickStar module.
Better late than never
While I celebrate the new toggles, the timing definitely raises questions. Samsung first teased these features back in January, and yet it took until April to deliver an update that actually unlocks these UI customizations.
But Samsung isn't the only tech giant that promises first and delivers later. Remember Apple's Apple Intelligence, which was introduced in 2024 and still lacks some Siri-related features? In this context, at least Samsung is delivering a tangible, functional tool users can use, even if it arrives a bit later than expected.
The real sting isn't in the delay. It stems from the gatekeeping of these features. Reportedly, One UI 8.0 users won't be able to access these features, even if they manage to sideload the APK. To me, this appears to be less of a technical issue than a deliberate push to force users to upgrade to the latest software builds (and hardware, of course).
