Pixel 10a camera

Unfortunately, Google hasn't planned a camera upgrade for the Pixel 10a. We're seeing the same camera system as on the Pixel 9a.
Pixel 10a camera setup:
- Main camera: 48MP, f/1.7, Quad PD Dual Pixel, 1/2-inch image sensor size, Optical + electronic image stabilization
- Ultra-wide camera: 13MP, f/2.2, 120-degree field of view, 1/3.1-inch image sensor size
- Selfie camera: 13MP
The camera on the Pixel 10a features some of Google's most popular photo tools, introduced to an A-series phone for the first time. Those include Auto Best Take and Camera coach.
- Auto Best Take ensures that everyone in a group photo is looking their best. The phone will automatically analyze multiple frames to find the perfect shot.
- Camera Coach takes advantage of Gemini to give you guidance on lighting and composition.
Meanwhile, you can also use Google Photos for editing with the help of AI. You can give it voice commands or type.
Pixel 10a storage
There aren't any changes in the storage department for the Pixel 10a either.
Pixel 10a storage capacity:
- 256 GB
- 128 GB
Pixel 10a design
Google has refined the Pixel 10a slightly, but it still pretty much looks like its predecessor. It now has a completely flat back, though, with the camera bar blending seamlessly with the back of the phone.

Google highlights that the Pixel 10a is made with the most recycled material of any Pixel A-series phone just yet. The phone comes in four colors: Fog, Obsidian, Berry, and Lavender. We have a recycled aluminum frame and an 81% recycled plastic back cover.
The Pixel 10a measures 153.9 x 73 x 9 mm, which is slightly different from the Pixel 9a (slightly smaller). The mid-range phone weighs 183 g, so it's a tiny bit lighter than its predecessor as well.

As expected, the phone sports an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance as well.
Pixel 10a display
| Pixel 10a | Screen size | Brightness |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel 10a | 6.3-inch | 3,000 nits peak brightness |
| Pixel 9a | 6.3-inch | 2,700 nits peak brightness |
* - anticipated sizes
In the display department, we have the same 6.3-inch OLED display with 120 Hz display refresh rate. The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 7i. However, there's one small but noticeable upgrade here: the display is 11% brighter than the one on its predecessor.
Now, the peak brightness goes all the way up to 3,000 nits, which is flagship-level brightness.
Pixel 10a battery
Meanwhile, we're not seeing an upgrade in the battery department of the Pixel 10a. The phone comes with the same 5,100 mAh battery as the Pixel 9a. However, according to the above-mentioned leaked spec sheet, Google has prepped an upgrade in the charging department.
Wireless charging speeds are now up to 10 W.
Meanwhile, the 5,100mAh battery cell is not a small battery by any means. Google bumped the battery size with the Pixel 9a, and it's a pretty big one, especially for a phone sporting a 6.3-inch display.
In our battery tests, the Pixel 9a fared really well with dependable battery life. It did beat the competition (the iPhone 16e and Galaxy A56) in all the categories that we test: browsing, video playback, and gaming. So, it's a great battery that lasts quite a lot, so maybe that's why Google decided no upgrades were necessary. As we all know, if it ain't broken, no need fixing it, right?

Pixel 10a features and software
The Pixel 10a comes with Android 16 out of the box. Google is promising 7 years of OS upgrades, security upgrades, and Pixel Drop updates.
Meanwhile, the Mountain View tech giant is also bringing Satellite SOS to a Pixel A-series phone for the first time with the Pixel 10a.
With Android 16, you get smarter notifications. Android can now group alerts better and show live updates from apps like ride shares and deliveries right on your lock screen, so you don't have to open each app to see what's happening.
The update also includes deeper security tools, new privacy controls, and ongoing work toward a fresh design language called Material 3 Expressive, which makes colors, icons, and layouts more expressive (some of these UI bits are rolling out with later updates).
For the Pixel 10a, these improvements mean a cleaner, more useful software experience from day one. You'll get better organized notifications and smoother interaction with apps, plus long-term support. Even if the 10a doesn't have all the high-end AI extras of flagship Pixels, the core Android 16 features help make everyday tasks easier and more secure.

As expected, the phone comes with Gemini Live for natural conversations. You can also take advantage of Nano Banana for editing and blending photos. Circle to Search and other AI tools are also available on the phone, alongside Call Screen and Hold For Me.
Pixel 10a hardware and specs
Pixel 10a's specs:
- CPU: Tensor G4, Titan M2 security coprocessor
- RAM: 8GB
- Battery: 5,100mAh
- Charging: 30 W wired, 10 W wireless
- Storage: 128, 256GB
- Camera setup: 48MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, 13 MP selfie camera
Google is using the Tensor G4 once again in the Pixel 10a, instead of the Tensor G5, which is found in the Pixel 10 series.
The Tensor G4 is built on a 4nm process. It's not a performance beast like other flagship processors like Qualcomm's and Apple's, but it's still pretty good for daily life tasks. It's also designed with on-device AI in mind.
In real life, the Pixel 10a may feel snappy and capable; yet, it would clearly lag behind competitors like the upcoming iPhone 17e, which is said to come powered by the processor that's found in the iPhone 17.
